Is this the life you envisioned for yourself?
You have the power to break free and rediscover your purpose.
“It’s like I’m living life on autopilot. All I do is work. I want to change my life, but I don’t know how.”
__________
Jay:
Your life is only going to change when you begin putting yourself first.
Hey there, friend.
Living life on autopilot. This is a sentiment I’m hearing more and more from people these days.
We become trapped in a state of being that looks something like this:
1. You wake up.
2. The first thought that enters your mind has to do with your job.
3. You go through the motions.
4. You try not to feel bored or tired, but sometimes it’s hard.
5. You try not to feel anxious or stressed, but sometimes that’s even harder.
6. At the end of the day, you get home and can (finally!) turn off your brain.
7. Repeat, a few thousand times.
Before long, you may find yourself questioning where the time has gone and why you feel so unfulfilled. It happens easily enough. Living life turns into simply going through the motions— getting from point A to point B. And who could blame you? You have things to do.
But here’s the thing. When you are living life on autopilot, nothing will ever feel like it’s enough, no matter how much you accomplish.
That sense of inner satisfaction just doesn’t come, because you can’t live with real purpose while on autopilot. It’s impossible. You’re not really unlocking your full potential, even if you are technically getting everything checked off your list.
From the outside, you may appear successful and happy to onlookers. But deep down, you know. This isn’t the life you envisioned for yourself. That familiar feeling comes over you— that you were meant for something else, something greater. You know you were meant for more.
Many of us feel this way right now, even if we don’t talk about it. But we can talk about it here. This newsletter is for discussing the invisible things in our hearts and minds that we don’t necessarily want to say out loud.
If you’ve been living your life on autopilot, no matter how long, I have good news for you. You don’t need to spend the next 30 years feeling this way every morning when you wake up for work. You have the power to break free. And what’s more, you have the ability to rediscover your purpose and passion for life.
To start, you need to Disrupt The Cycle. Here’s how.
1. Begin living for yourself again, not others.
So much of our daily life is spent doing things for others. Before you check your email and get wrapped up in messages from your boss, take a moment for yourself. Carve out time throughout your day to prioritize your own well-being with intention.
2. Slow down and take your time back.
Living life on autopilot occurs when you feel like you don’t have enough time to enjoy the moment, so you quickly rush through life. It’s time to hit the pause button. How can you slow down and feel the joy of the present moment? How can you rush less, and experience more? Make every minute count.
3. Listen to your inner voice and instincts.
When was the last time you let your inner desires, interests, and instincts lead the way? Chances are you’ve been ignoring your own inner voice for a long time. Get out of the habit of silencing yourself. It’s not selfish to honor your inner voice.
Your life is only going to change when you begin putting yourself first. You deserve not just to survive and get by, but to grow and flourish within your full potential. Start choosing yourself. Start choosing well-being. When you do, you’ll discover more joy and fulfillment than you ever thought possible.
