Is lasting peace possible?

For thousands of years, people have turned to prayer, meditation, and gratitude, not just because they connect you to a higher power, but because they also connect you to your inner power.

In other words: Prayer, meditation, and gratitude are practices that connect you to yourself.

Listening to mantras, doing breathwork, meditating, and praying, are opportunities for you to give your mind space.

Engaging in these practices can be a physical interruption – sometimes the only moments all day you’re not staring at a screen, talking on the phone, or processing what’s happening around you.

Carving out two minutes, five minutes, ten minutes–whatever amount of time you can dedicate to yourself–may be the only time of day your cognitive load is not stretched.

We often hear the saying, “Read between the lines,” but when you create space for silence, you give yourself the opportunity to hear between the lines.

Settling into silence allows you to rehearse peace during calm moments so your nervous system can access it in chaos.

Small, intentional doses of peace teach your body a pattern it can repeat.

You’re not just “taking a break”. You’re training your body to remember calmness on command.

The truth is life can be stressful and chaotic. There will be moments when tough times and tough chapters hit hard.

None of us can escape that.

You won’t always be able to control what happens to you, but you can teach yourself how to return to peace, no matter what you’re facing.

Which practice do you engage in most often?

Today’s Wiser Choice

Try This: A one minute peace practice:

  1. Sit quietly and close your eyes.

  2. Take three slow, deep breaths.

  • Choose one small focus:

    • A short prayer

    • A mantra (For example: “I am here. I am present.”)

    • Gratitude for one thing in your life

  1. Give yourself permission to sit in silence. Let your thoughts come and go without judgment.

  2. Open your eyes and notice the sense of calm you created that you can now carry into the rest of your day.

On Purpose

On my podcast last Friday, I broke down why so many of us feel drained, overwhelmed, and burned out, and what it really means to protect your energy. I unpacked the quiet habits that drain you without you realizing it: overgiving, overcommitting, mistaking busyness for worth, and confusing being agreeable with being kind.

This episode is a reminder that your energy is your currency.
