Today’s Wisdom
Hold your vision gently. Build your skills faithfully. Let your future arrive in its own form.
Read time: 5 minutes.
This is your permission to pause and take a little time for yourself.
It was Radhi's birthday last week, and I told her something I say a lot but truly mean: I learn from her constantly. That's one of my favourite parts of our relationship. We are, and always have been, students of each other.
And because Radhi apparently likes to make sure my compliments are immediately backed by evidence ;-) … she taught me something new a few hours later. She started writing herself a letter. Not one to send, not one to post — one to open on her next birthday.
In it, she captured four simple things from her birthday this year:
What she was thinking about.
What she did that day.
How she was feeling.
Her hopes for the version of herself who'll be reading this a year from now.
It was a powerful practice of setting gentle intentions, then letting go of how they must unfold: a gift for her future self, and a beautiful share for her audience. I have a feeling it's going to be a gift for you, too.
With love,
Jay ❤️
What vision do you hold for your future self?
In this episode of On Purpose, I explore why courage isn’t something we’re born with, it’s something we build. Through powerful psychological insights and practical tools, I share how small, uncomfortable actions can help us break the cycle of fear, reshape our confidence, and completely change the direction of our lives, one step at a time.
