Today I want to get straight to the point with you.

You know the friend who cancelled plans last minute, the stranger who cut you off in traffic, the cashier who was short with you? All those people who hurt you – the ones you’re angry at, ignoring, or getting revenge on in your head?

They’re all carrying something.

Stress, fear, grief, bad news, a long day. Something you may never see.

When you pause to consider what someone else might be carrying, it changes how you show up. You start to notice that a little patience or kindness coming from you can ripple out and change someone’s day, even their life.

A smile, a word of encouragement, a kinder, softer reaction can shift the energy in a room. It changes how people remember you.

If you have the power to extend a little more empathy, I encourage you to do it.

  • That friend you’re upset with? Text them.

  • That cashier you’re angry at? Go back and ask them how their day was.

  • The next time you’re at a stoplight? Wave at the person next to you.

Extend kindness and graciousness where and when you can, and while you’re doing so, don’t forget to include yourself

The patience, love, and compassion you give to others… you deserve it, too.

If this message resonated with you, share it with a friend.

With love,
Jay ♥️

Then, give yourself the same patience and compassion you just shared.

How often do you go out of your way to show small kindnesses to strangers?
