Happy holidays, dear reader.

I want to share a little message about joy today.

It’s a word that gets passed around a lot this time of year. And it's always my wish for you. Not just today, but every day, all year round.

I also know that joy isn’t always easy to reach.

So I want to offer something that has carried people for centuries. One Sanskrit word for joy is Mudita—a joy that isn’t limited to what we feel inside our own life.

It’s joy as appreciation. Joy as generosity. Joy that can show up when we witness someone else’s happiness, especially when our own is hard to find. My joy this year has come from meaningful moments and milestones. But so much more of it has come from you. From meeting you, hearing your stories, and feeling your pride in what you’ve created, healed, and become.

If today feels bright for you, I hope you savour it, and share it. And if today feels heavy, I hope you can borrow a little light from the people you love, from a stranger’s kindness, or from the simple reminder that joy is ever present in your own heart, even when it feels out of reach.Whatever this holiday holds for you, I’m sending you warmth, appreciation, and joy.

With love,
Jay

Today’s Wiser Choice

Sometimes, especially when we’re struggling, it can be hard to find something to be joyful about. Even when we know it’s good for us to try.

Try This: Let’s start really, really small. Start a list of the smallest things you appreciated today. Was it a warm shower? Was it a deep breath? Was it a cup of coffee? A text from a friend? A funny TikTok? Even when there are things in your life that you wish were better, finding joy in small things can boost your mood, and help you get more out of your holidays.

Wishing you joy in your heart, and peace in your mind.
