Today’s Wisdom is brought to you by

I see this all the time. I’m willing to bet you have too.

If you’ve ever parented a child with a big goal, helped a friend find the courage to leave a relationship, or coached a partner through a launch, you’ve probably seen it firsthand: it’s so easy to believe in someone else.

It gets harder when the person starting at zero is you.

Recently, I hosted a Q&A with my certification school community. I spoke with one of my certified coaches who shared that every time she thought about starting her coaching business, fear took over. The more we talked, the clearer it became: she wasn’t scared of starting. She was afraid of being seen as a beginner.

The thing is: fear can arise whenever we begin something new — a project, a career, even a podcast. It’s completely normal. In those moments, it’s easy to forget that every person we admire started from scratch.

Everyone starts at zero.

👉🏽 You can feel the fear and make the decision to move forward, or
👉🏽 You can allow fear to make the decision for you.

Start scared. Start imperfectly. Just don’t let fear of being a beginner become the reason you never start at all.

Love,
Jay ❤️

I invited a group of my certified coaches from Vancouver, BC to come together and help tell the story of coaching through their own voices and journeys.
