Are you constantly racing against the clock?

It’s typical to block out our mornings, schedule back-to-back meetings, and colour-code our agendas until every hour of the day is accounted for, but how often do you find yourself spending the same amount of time managing your energy?

We can have the most perfectly organized schedule, but if our energy is always depleted, we can’t show up fully for the things or the people we love.

Time is a finite resource, but energy is renewable. When we shift our focus to protecting our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual energy, productivity has the chance to naturally increase. So, too, does our inner peace.

Here’s a practical way to guard your 4 energy types:

Physical energy: notice when your body is asking for rest, and give yourself what it needs. Maybe that’s a five-minute stretch, a glass of water, saying no to plans, or simply going to bed earlier.

Mental energy: guard your attention by closing the open tabs on your laptop and doing just one task at a time. This is how your creativity can thrive.

Emotional energy: be mindful of who and what drains you. Set gentle boundaries around toxic conversations or endless scrolling, and deliberately seek out spaces that feel safe and uplifting.

Spiritual energy: dedicate the first or last 10 minutes of your day to stillness, prayer, gratitude, or a walk in nature to anchor yourself to something bigger than your to-do list.

When we stop letting our calendars dictate our well-being and start protecting our energy, inner peace will gradually return.

You don't need more time in your day. You just need more of you in your time.

With love,
Jay ♥️
