Today’s Wisdom
Transformation begins when you stop using external milestones as the sole measure of your success.
Read time: 5 minutes.
This is your permission to pause and take a little time for yourself.
We create a timeline of when we are supposed to reach certain goals, achieve specific titles, or hit personal accomplishments, but when life doesn't match that exact path, we fall into the trap of believing we are behind, as if we failed some sort of test.
But that expectation is often an illusion, and the weight of comparing your reality to an imagined timeline will only steal your capacity to enjoy where you are right now.
When you release the narrative of what your life should look like, you create the space to appreciate what it actually is. Your journey isn't a race against society’s clock but rather a personal evolution unfolding.
The moments where you felt lost, stuck, or out of sync were never wasted. They were simply chapters that allowed you to rebuild your foundation. Maybe that’s where you are right now. Feeling a little lost. Stuck in a season that doesn’t seem to be moving. Out of sync with the version of yourself you thought you’d be by now. Wondering why everyone else seems to have found their footing while you’re still trying to make sense of what comes next.
None of it is wasted.
I encourage you to trust the timing of your own growth. Honour your unique path, let go of the pressure to keep up, and remember that you are exactly where you need to be.
Love,
Jay ❤️
What part of your life feels most out of sync with the timeline you imagined?
I sat down with actress Lucy Hale who opened up about letting go of society’s timelines, navigating media scrutiny and body insecurity while growing up in the early days of social media. Lucy also shared her decision to freeze her eggs on her own terms, and how solitude, self-forgiveness, and personal growth have changed the way she approaches love, relationships, and herself.
