Today’s Wisdom

Curating playlists for different daily activities helps ground your focus and build up energy.

Read time: 4 minutes.
This is your permission to pause and take a little time for yourself.

Yet most of us treat it as background noise rather than a tool for wellbeing. We wait for our mood to dictate the music we listen to, when the reverse is where the power is.

That means you can intentionally curate playlists to shape desired moments, optimize energy levels, and be more productive throughout your day. I do this all the time to ground my focus and elevate my mood.

Here’s what I’ve been listening to lately.

  • In the morning, I like to play Olivia Dean to start the day with something gentle.

  • When I go for a walk, I switch to FKJ to stay present and creative.

  • During my workouts, I love Meek Mill to provide a surge of energy.

  • At night, Sienna Spiro helps me wind down.

I invite you to try building 3 intentional playlists this week: one for the morning, one for an afternoon exercise or movement session, and one to unwind at night. Assign specific artists or genres to each one, and feel free to create more for any other activities you have planned throughout the day.

When you intentionally match your music to your intended state rather than just your current mood, you teach yourself how to take control of your day.

Love,
Jay ❤️
