Authenticity is a word we hear everywhere, but we rarely think about what it actually means. We’ve been conditioned to believe that "being yourself" means showing up as the same version of you in every room, with every person, and at every stage of life.

I want you to really honestly sit with that for a moment. When you demand authenticity from someone, what are you really asking for? Are you asking them to stay the same and always live up to one picture you have in your mind? Or do you allow people to express different sides of themselves?

I recently sat down with Mikayla Nogueira for an honest conversation about online scrutiny, changing relationships, and the pressure to remain the same. Her journey is a powerful reminder that humans are meant to adapt – we are different with close friends than we are at work, and that isn't dishonest. It's human.

I dive deeper into Mikayla’s perspective on handling criticism, honouring growth, and redefining what it means to live authentically in this month’s issue of On Purpose Magazine.
